Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders; refers questions to Radiologist before performing exam.
• Properly identify patients and prepare for procedures with explanations.
• Interviews patients for medical history and reviews EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history.
• Assumes responsibility for the exam from start to finish including dictated results.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast per protocols and records details as needed.
• Evaluates image quality and consults Radiologist; performs additional imaging as instructed.
• Performs basic patient care and supports life safety measures when needed.
• Performs CT scanning and assists Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures; maintains sterile technique.
• Follows radiation safety guidelines and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Rotates shifts including call back; adheres to attendance policies.
