Job summary

Arkansas Children's is seeking a part-time CT Technologist to develop safe, timely CT exams and provide excellent patient care. You will work in the CT Technology department with emphasis on radiation safety and proper contrast administration.

The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent; a Bachelor's is preferred. Certification ARRT CT or related credentials are expected within a year, with pediatric experience considered an asset.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in radiologic technology or related program.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred for broader clinical training.
  • Direct experience not required; pediatric exposure welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Develops knowledge to perform scan protocols minimizing radiation exposure.
  • Adheres to radiation safety recommendations and ALARA principles.
  • Administers IV and oral contrast as trained.
  • Explains exams to patients and families; maintains a clean work area.
  • Keeps CT equipment properly maintained and reports issues.
  • Complies with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Description
  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
  • Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
  • Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.
  • Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
