Job summary

Arkansas Children's Hospital in Springdale is seeking a CT Technologist to perform quality CT exams safely and efficiently. The role requires RTL at hire and certification within 1 year, with 8:30pm-6:30am nights on four 10-hour shifts at the Springdale campus.

Education includes an associate degree or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is encouraged. Certifications include ARRT CT, with state licensure required. This safety-sensitive position supports pediatric imaging and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year program or technical school.
• Bachelor's degree is recommended for advancement.
• ARRT-(R)(N)(CT) certification or eligibility within one year.
• Radiologic Technologist license with state approval.

Responsibilities

• Verifies CT exams as ordered by physician.
• Developing knowledge to perform scan protocols safely.
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and ALARA.
• Explain exams to patients and families.
• Maintain work area and equipment; request service as needed.
• Comply with regulatory laws and hospital standards.

Description

1. Verifies exams as ordered by physician.


2. Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.


3. Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA


4. Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.


5. Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.


6. Ensures that work area is properly maintained.


7. Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.


8. Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.


9. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.


10. Performs other duties as assigned.
