Job summary

Arkansas Children's Hospital in Springdale, AR is seeking a part-time CT technologist in the CT Technology department.   • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year program or technical school.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college (preferred).
  • No experience required; pediatric exposure encouraged.
  • Certification within one year: ARRT CT or Radiologic Technologist License.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Developing knowledge to perform correct scan protocols to decrease radiation exposure.
  • Adhere to radiation safety recommendations including ALARA.
  • Properly administer IV and oral contrast.
  • Explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • Ensure work area is properly maintained.
  • Keep current with evolving CT technologies.
  • Maintain equipment and request service as needed.
  • Comply with regulatory laws and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description
  • 1. Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • 2. Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
  • 3. Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
  • 4. Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.
  • 5. Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • 6. Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • 7. Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
  • 8. Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • 9. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • 10. Performs other duties as assigned.
