Job Summary

This role performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans to create cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs, aiding physicians in diagnosis and treatment.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
• Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
• Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)).

Additional certifications required with documented training on diagnostic CT exams:

• Registered Radiology Technologist by ARRT-R.
• Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by ARRT-N.
• Certified by NMTCB.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills

• Minimum of one year as a CT Technologist or two years as a Radiological Technologist with CT experience.
• Ability to lift/maneuver patients, possibly with assistance.

Principal Accountabilities

• Performs CT scans: prepares patients, explains procedures, administers contrast, positions patients, selects imaging techniques, ensures scan quality.
• Enters and monitors patient data.
• Performs quality assurance on CT equipment, assists with accreditation applications.
• Reports accidents, complaints, or equipment issues.
• May work weekends, float to other locations, and take emergency calls.
• Ensures safety and adheres to policies, standards, and budget constraints.
• Supports professional growth, serves as mentor, and supports organizational goals.
• Provides compassionate, personalized care, modeling Memorial Hermann’s service standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
