Job Summary

This position performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans to create cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs, which are used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
• Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
• Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)).

Additionally, one of the following with documented training on diagnostic CT exams:

• Registered Radiology Technologist by ARRT (ARRT-R), or
• Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by ARRT (ARRT-N), or
• Certified by NMTCB.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Minimum of one year of experience as a CT Technologist or two years as a Radiological Technologist with CT training or experience, preferred.
• Ability to lift and maneuver patients in conjunction with others as needed.

Principal Accountabilities

• Performs CT scans: prepares patients, explains procedures, administers contrast if needed, positions patients, selects imaging techniques, and ensures quality of scans.
• Enters and monitors patient data.
• Performs quality assurance on CT equipment and may assist with accreditation processes.
• Reports accidents, complaints, or equipment issues to management.
• Participates in emergency calls and may work weekends or float to other locations.
• Ensures safety and adheres to policies, standards, and budget constraints.
• Supports professional growth, serves as preceptor and mentor, and promotes compassionate care.
• Other duties as assigned.
