Job summary

Atrium Health Union West is seeking a CT Technologist I to operate CT scanners and related equipment in a fast-paced radiology department. You will verify orders, prepare patients, administer IV contrast when appropriate, and ensure image quality while maintaining safety protocols.

You will collaborate with radiologists and nursing staff, participate in shift rotations, and uphold patient-centered care with attention to growth and development across all ages served.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • ARRT Radiology or NMTCB CT certification; CT registry within one year of hire; BLS required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development and patient populations.
  • Ability to lift/move patients and equipment; adheres to radiation safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Examines requests and verifies orders; refers and questions orders to Radiologist before exam.
  • Identifies patients using two identifiers and explains procedures briefly.
  • Interviews patients for medical history; reviews EMRs to obtain pertinent data.
  • Assumes responsibility for exam from start to finish and dictates results.
  • Prepares/injects IV contrast per protocol; records type/amount when needed.
  • Operates CT scanner and related equipment; ensures image quality and safety.
