Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year radiology experience.
  • Certified ARRT in Radiography and CT with BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Execute CT scans per departmental guidelines and capture diagnostic images with technical expertise.
  • Operate imaging equipment independently while maintaining image quality and minimizing dose (ALARA).
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of rooms and equipment; report issues promptly.
  • Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure patient identification before exams.
  • Explain procedures clearly using AIDET to reduce patient anxiety.
  • Ensure patient safety, privacy, comfort; administer contrast and use sterile techniques as needed.
  • Position patients, apply markers and shielding; review images for diagnostic quality.
  • Document procedures in RIS/PACS and ensure proper study finalization and transfers.
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and maintain safety equipment.
  • Organize workflow and support department operations; ensure regulatory compliance.

Job description

Role Overview

The CT Technologist performs high-quality imaging procedures at WMCG, ensuring patient safety and comfort while supporting a collaborative care team.


Key Responsibilities


  • Execute CT scans per departmental guidelines, capturing diagnostic images with technical expertise.

  • Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to maintain quality while minimizing dose (ALARA).

  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of rooms and equipment, reporting issues promptly.

  • Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure patient identification before exams.

  • Explain procedures clearly using AIDET, addressing patient questions and reducing anxiety.

  • Ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort; administer contrast and perform necessary procedures with sterile techniques.

  • Position patients correctly, apply markers, shielding, and immobilization; review images for diagnostic quality.

  • Document procedures accurately in RIS/PACS, ensure proper study finalization, and handle transfers/retrievals.

  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and maintain safety equipment.

  • Organize workflow, support department operations, and ensure regulatory compliance.


Qualifications & Skills


  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited Radiologic Technology program.

  • Minimum 1 year radiology experience.

  • Certifications: ARRT - R (Radiography), ARRT - CT, and BLS from the American Heart Association.
