Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a CT Technologist to perform computed tomography procedures with a focus on high-quality imaging and patient-centered care. You will operate CT equipment following department guidelines and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the exam.

The role requires ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, along with BLS. You will collaborate with the radiology team, manage patient histories, and document studies in RIS/PACS, while adhering to infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification.
• ARRT-CT certification for Computed Tomography.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures per department guidelines to capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and adjust techniques to maintain diagnostic quality with ALARA principles.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders and patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures and prep using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and repeat/correct as needed; release patients.
• Document accurately and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; manage transfers/retrievals as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; assist with crash cart and life-support equipment when required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department operations.
