Job summary

The CT Technologist at Wellstar Douglas Hospital delivers safe, high-quality imaging and a compassionate patient experience as part of a collaborative radiology team.

This full-time role supports a Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday/Sunday 2:30pm–3:00am schedule, with shift differential incentives and opportunities for career growth via Wellstar CareerCare and education programs.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography) and ARRT-CT; BLS from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain ALARA principles.
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders and patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures using AIDET and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and repeat if needed.
• Document studies in RIS/PACS and manage transfers.
• Monitor patient condition and assist with emergencies; restock crash cart.
