Job summary

The CT Technologist at Wellstar delivers safe, high-quality imaging and supports a positive patient experience at Douglas Hospital. You will work as part of a collaborative care team to ensure timely and accurate CT exams while adhering to ALARA principles.

This role requires radiologic technology education, ARRT certifications, and at least 1 year of radiology experience, with strong patient communication and infection-control practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification.
• ARRT-CT – ARRT Computed Tomography.
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment independently and maintain ALARA standards.
• Clean and disinfect rooms and equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients appropriately.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS/PACS.
