Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital seeks a CT Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. You will perform CT procedures per department guidelines and work within a collaborative radiology team.

The role requires completing an accredited Radiologic Technology program, a high school diploma, and at least 1 year of radiology experience with ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications. BLS is also expected.

Qualifications

• Education required: High School Diploma or equivalent and an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Professional certs include ARRT-R and ARRT-CT, with BLS.
• Minimum 1 year radiology experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines.
• Capture quality diagnostic images with proper technique.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain ALARA dose.
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and patient IDs.
• Explain procedures using AIDET and address questions.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, immobilization.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and release patients.
• Document accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with crash cart and life-support readiness.
• Organize daily workflows and support department flow.
• Keep areas clean, stocked, and compliant with regulations.
