Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a positive patient experience. You will work as a trusted member of a collaborative radiology team at Douglas Hospital, applying expertise to procedures with emphasis on patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include adhering to ALARA, preparing patients, administering contrast per protocol, and ensuring accurate documentation in RIS/PACS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification required.
• ARRT-CT certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture high-quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment independently, ensuring diagnostic quality with ALARA principles.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules; report issues promptly.
• Verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before exams; obtain clinical history as needed.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and repeat/correct as needed.
• Complete accurate documentation and finalize studies in RIS/PACS, including transfers and prior exam retrieval.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and assist with life-support equipment as required.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes and support department operations.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Accredited Radiologic Technology program

ARRT-R (Radiography) certification

ARRT-CT – ARRT Computed Tomography certification

BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association
