Role Summary

A CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They prepare and evaluate images, ensure patient safety, and assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures. The role includes preparing, administering, and documenting medications and radiation exposure in compliance with laws and policies.

Key Duties

• Obtain correct patient information, ensure proper identification, and prepare patients for exams while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize safety and quality.
• Prepare, administer, and document medications via vascular access as prescribed.
• Evaluate images for quality, proper positioning, and verify data transfer and storage.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
• Assist with interventional CT procedures and perform prescribed imaging tasks.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certification by ARRT or NMTCB required upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification before starting.
• Experience in radiologic technology and graduate of a specialty training program.
• Ability to perform procedures independently and work in a clinical environment, ensuring compliance with policies.
