Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and support patients throughout their visit.

You will perform CT procedures per department guidelines, maintain ALARA dose, and ensure documentation in RIS/PACS; collaborate with care teams to ensure patient comfort and safety.

The role requires an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT CT/R credentials, and BLS; prior radiology experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT, and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures per department guidelines and capture quality images.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain ALARA dose.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules.
• Verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients.
• Document studies in RIS/PACS (transfers/retrieval, CDs, prior exam retrieval).
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and restock crash cart and life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflows to meet timeframes; collaborate with technologists to support department flow.
• Assist with charging/clerical tasks and ensure regulatory compliance.
