Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and support a positive patient experience. You will perform CT procedures, optimize image quality, and adhere to ALARA principles in a busy radiology department.

The role requires a radiologic technology program credential, ARRT certifications, and at least one year of radiology experience, with BLS certification. Excellent patient communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• ARRT-R certification.
• ARRT-CT certification.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and ensure high-quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and maintain ALARA principles.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders; ensure two patient identifiers before exams.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address patient questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout visits.
• Administer contrast per protocol using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and reimage as needed.
• Document and finalize studies accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers as needed.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock life-support equipment as required.
• Coordinate daily workflows to meet department timelines and support other modalities.
