Job summary

The CT Technologist at Wellstar delivers high-quality imaging and patient-centered care within Georgia's integrated health system. You will perform CT procedures per department guidelines, maintain ALARA principles, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout each visit.

Join a collaborative team at Douglas Hospital where education, infection control, and accurate documentation in RIS/PACS are essential. Eligible candidates have ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, BLS and at least 1 year radiology experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification
• ARRT-CT certification
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines and capture high-quality diagnostic images
• Operate imaging equipment safely and maintain lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Disinfect and prepare rooms/equipment per infection control schedules
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and ensure two patient identifiers before exams
• Explain procedures and provide reassurance to reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit
• Administer contrast when indicated and use proper venipuncture/technique
• Position patients, apply markers/shielding, and monitor during exams
• Review images and finalize studies in RIS/PACS; arrange transfers when needed
• Monitor patient condition and assist with emergencies; restock life-support equipment as required
• Coordinate daily workflows to support department efficiency and compliance
