Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a new graduate imaging technologist for a full-time role with a strong emphasis on radiographic procedures and patient care. The position offers a $30,000 sign-on bonus with a three-year commitment and potential loan repayment of up to $10,000 tax-free.

The role requires ARRT RT (radiography) or NMTCB CNMT at hire, an associate degree or equivalent, and may lead toward CT technologist experience.

As a new graduate imaging technologist in a full-time role, you could receive up to $277.78/month (maximum $10,000) towards your qualified student loans, tax-free! A 3-year full-time employment commitment is required.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) independently. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results. (40%)
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. (20%)
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. (20%)
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. (20%)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum
Associate degree; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ARRT Registered (RT) in radiography (R) or NMTCB registered (CNMT) is required at time of hire

Preferred

Prior experience working as a CT Technologist

Additional Employment Requirements:

One of the following sets of certifications is required within 18 months of hire or transfer, if already certified, active certification must be maintained:

• Computed Tomography (CT) certified
• NMTCB registered (CT) certification

For employees already in a CT role prior to July 1, 2022: CT certification is not required if not already held; however, existing CT certifications must be maintained.

• CPR - American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
