Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (GS-9) to perform CT imaging of head, neck, spine, chest and body, along with general and operating room radiography. Use of contrast materials is expected as part of exams.

Requirements include ARRT certification in radiology, with advanced certification for CT/MRI/Mammo as applicable, plus a 24-month radiologic technology program and English proficiency. Eligible veterans may qualify for incentives.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required; non-citizens only as permitted by VA policy.
• Advanced ARRT certification required for CT, MRI, or Mammography duties performed independently.
• Completion of a full-time radiologic technology program of at least 24 months or equivalent; certificate or associate degree; JRCERT or ARRT-accredited.
• Proficient in spoken and written English per VA policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform general radiography examinations.
• Perform operating room radiography.
• Perform computed tomography (CT) examinations.
• Utilize contrast materials as required during imaging.
