Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist in Gainesville, Florida. This position requires certification in radiologic technology with an advanced certification in computed tomography. The ideal candidate will perform CT procedures and related duties in a VA academic hospital program.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must hold ARRT certification in radiography.
  • Requires advanced certification for CT procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform computerized tomography of various body parts with or without contrast.
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
  • Document CT scan radiation doses and intravenous placements.

Skills

Knowledge of computed tomography
Ability to perform advanced imaging procedures
Proficiency in English
Ability to assess procedural contraindications

Education

Completion of a full-time training course in diagnostic radiologic technology
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
