Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Eastern Kansas Health Care System, seeks a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT) to perform routine and specialized CT imaging from head to extremities, following approved protocols. The role includes contrast administration, equipment QC, and maintaining PACS/EMR records.

Qualifications

• Certification in general radiologic technology (ARRT R) is required.
• Advanced ARRT certification required for CT/MRI/Mammography as applicable.
• Completion of a full-time training program of at least 24 months in radiologic technology (JRCERT accredited) is required.
• English language proficiency required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
• May qualify under Grandfathering Provision for VA employees in this occupation.

Responsibilities

• Administers intravenous contrast following safety protocols.
• Consults with radiologists for guidance on non-standard procedures.
• Maintains complete electronic records of exams in PACS/EMR.
• Performs quality control checks on radiology equipment.
• Coordinates workflow to accommodate emergencies and critically ill patients.
• Manages CT/X-ray/angiography supplies and inventory.
• Maintains infection control, sterile technique, and radiation safety.
• Functions independently.
