Job summary

Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, NC seeks a CT Technologist I to perform CT procedures, operate scanners, and ensure patient safety following department protocols.

You will verify orders, prepare patients, administer IV contrast, and collaborate with radiologists, while maintaining image quality and radiation safety. This role requires ARRT or NMTCB CT registry within one year and BLS, with rotating shifts and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT within one year of hire required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient; refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam.
• Properly identify patients using two identifiers and assist with explanations of procedures.
• Interviews patients for medical history and reviews EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history.
• Assumes responsibility for the exam from start to finish and dictates results.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast per department protocol.
• Evaluates image quality and consults with Radiologist as needed; processes additional reconstructions as instructed.
• Performs basic patient care functions and communicates changes in condition to nursing staff; participates in code blue if necessary.
• Performs CT scans and assists Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures; maintains sterile technique.
• Operates radiology computer systems to enter orders and document contrast administration.

Education

Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or NMTCB program
