Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a CT Technologist to perform routine CT procedures and ensure patient safety under radiation protocols. This role includes mentoring junior staff and students, and contributing to quality imaging standards.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, operating imaging equipment, communicating with patients, and supporting departmental operations. Requires BLS, ARRT (R) and NMTCB as applicable, valid state license, and CT certification within two

Qualifications

• Must have strong computer and data entry skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for patient interaction.
• Knowledge of Windows applications and imaging software.
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to privacy and confidentiality.
• Flexibility in duties and hours including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Operates radiology equipment to complete CT imaging per protocol.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Reviews images to confirm diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Supports departmental operations (scheduling, inventory, maintenance).
• Maintains confidentiality and delivers care with professionalism.
• Assists attending physicians with interventional procedures when needed.
