Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana seeks a CT Technologist to collaboratively perform routine CT procedures in collaboration with staff radiologists, mentoring junior staff and students. You will verify orders, operate imaging equipment, ensure image quality, and participate in quality control and departmental operations.

The role requires ARRT certification, Louisiana licensure, BLS, and a radiologic technology program from an AMA-approved school, with preferred 2 years CT experience.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to diverse individuals.
• Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and various software packages relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedures per protocol (including IV).
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission for diagnostic quality.
• Completes timely quality control procedures per standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication to the patient population and setting.
• Other related duties as required.
