Job summary

Bechtel Global Corporation seeks an CSU Operations Supervisor for the Cheyenne, WY project to lead startup and initial operations of all permanent plant equipment from pre-commissioning through substantial completion and handover. The role ensures safe, reliable operation within design limits and guides ramp-up to power production and performance testing.

The position reports to the CSU Operations Lead and requires coordinating on-site commissioning teams, developing procedures, and supervising

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent).
• Experience in startup and initial operations of power plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of project estimates.
• Active leadership in the safety program; ensuring process safety, personal safety, and environmental health standards on site.
• Active leadership in the Quality program; target zero punch-lists to avoid downstream impacts.
• Coordinates technical input and support of on-site teams including commissioning and operations.
• Supervises performance testing and commissioning, planning tests per prime contract.
• Coordinates maintenance or operational issues requiring project support and vendor involvement.
• Participates in HAZOP, HAZID and 3D Model reviews.
• Prepares operations procedures, manuals and plans; documents operations and resources.
• Implements startup philosophies for combined cycle and simple cycle blocks.
• Reviews P&IDs and electrical diagrams to define startup sequencing and isolation methods.
• Collaborates with vendor engineers to establish startup and commissioning procedures.
• Works with engineering to identify operating requirements and thresholds for reliability.
• Supervises a team of operations professionals for safe startup and commissioning from the control room.
