Job summary

Duke University Health System in Durham, NC seeks a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to support perioperative care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.

This position requires CST/CSFA credentials, a CSFA program, and 3 years of surgical tech experience; will collaborate with surgeons and staff to ensure safe, efficient operations and resident education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from CSA/CSFA program per CAAHEP/ABSA/NASC/CCI.
• Associate of Science in Surgical Technology preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care and first assist during designated procedures.
• Assist with exposure, hemostasis, suturing, and wound closure.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with patient positioning.
• Support education of surgical residents and team leadership.
