Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to support surgeons in invasive procedures. The CSFA ensures sterile technique, assists with exposure and hemostasis, and maintains a safe operating room environment under surgeon supervision.

Qualified candidates will have NBSTSA certification, BLS, Virginia license if working in VA, and 5+ years CST experience or 2 years in first assist. This is a regular, full-time role with a competitive pay range and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited surgical technology program or certified surgical assistant.
• Five years CST experience required (10,400 hours) or two years in first assist role.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical procedures under surgeon supervision to ensure patient safety.
• Ensure operating room is safe and equipment functions properly.
• Apply sterile and aseptic technique during procedures.
