Job summary

Air Products is seeking a Maintenance and Service Technician to join our Customer Engineering Team. The role covers installation, repair, and maintenance of cryogenic and industrial gas systems with daily travel within a 250‑mile radius from Bel Air, MD or Washington DC area.

The position involves life‑cycle field service, after‑hours support, and occasional supervision of contractors, with comprehensive safety training and growth opportunities in cryogenics and industrial gases.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required.
A Technical degree is preferred but not required.
Welding or brazing experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to perform tasks such as driving, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, tightening, loosening, drilling, sawing, crawling, bending, shoveling, and wrenching.
Ability to work outdoors year‑round in all weather conditions.
Effective communication skills with customers, management, sales, and engineering.
Self‑starter with strong learning aptitude and desire for professional growth.
Strong troubleshooting abilities with a big‑picture mindset.

Responsibilities

Service cryogenic, high‑pressure, and generated gas systems at customer sites within the region.
Occasionally supervise contractors and crane operations.
Participate in after‑hours and weekend call‑outs; 24/7 availability.
Utilize company‑provided truck, gas card, laptop, uniforms, and tools.
Travel includes overnight stays; more frequent during initial training period.
Overnight stays may be required to support customers outside normal territory.
