Job summary

Savage is hiring for a Night Shift Doubles Hazmat CDL A Driver in North Salt Lake, UT. You’ll work a local route with home daily hours and a competitive annual pay range. The role emphasizes safety, inspections, and on-board system data entry, with full-time hours and a structured 5 on/2 off schedule.

Qualifications include a CDL A with Hazmat, Tanker, and Doubles endorsements, 6 months of CDL A experience, and a high school diploma. Benefits and training are provided.

Qualifications

• 6 months of CDL A experience within the past 2 years required.
• 1+ year of CDL experience, preferably in crude/petrol.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre and post-shift vehicle and equipment inspections, and take appropriate action on encountered problems.
• Utilize on-board computer terminals to record locations visited and products handled, ensuring paperwork is complete, neat and legible.
• Report incidents (operational and/or safety-related) in a timely manner.
• Contain and report any spill according to Occurrence Reporting procedures.
• Participate in Savage’s safety program, attending safety meetings and promoting safe behaviors.

Night Shift| Doubles Hazmat CDL A Driver in North Salt Lake, UT| Home Daily| Local Routes

• Pay Per Load ($95,000 - $110,000 per year)
• Night shift differential
• Full-Time
• 5 days on / 2 days off - 5 days on / 3 days off

What You’ll Be Doing

• Conduct comprehensive pre and post-shift vehicle and equipment inspections, and take appropriate action on encountered problems

• Report incidents (operational and/or safety-related), as instructed, in a timely manner

• Take an active role in our safety program, including attendance at all safety meetings and ensuring safe behaviors of self and subordinates

Job Requirements

• Class A CDL with Hazmat, Tanker and doubles endorsement
• 6 months of CDL A experience within the past 2 years required
• 1+ year of CDL Experience, preferably in crude/petrol
• A commitment to work without an occurrence; no spills, no injuries and no property damage
• Can successfully pass Savage’s road test, which will include a proper pre- and post-trip inspection of the vehicle
• Comfortable working in an oilfield environment, including climbing ladders and stairs to the top of tanks, and working around flammable gases and other toxic fumes
• Must be willing to work days/nights/holidays
• High School Diploma/GED

Physical Requirements

• Climb into and out of the cab multiple times per shift
• Apply snow chains to tires
• Climb ladders and work at heights when needed
• Lift 50+ pounds occasionally
• Work and drive in adverse weather conditions
