Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in an Exceptional Children’s teaching area.
• Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the NC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities and implements them.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for specially designed instruction.
• Assist students in completing curriculum tasks and achieving IEP goals.
• Uses varied teaching methods and accommodations to meet student needs.
• Monitors student behavior and maintains classroom discipline.
• Participates in IEP meetings as a collaborative team member.
• Stays updated on trends and practices by attending professional development events.
