Job Description
Reporting to the Director of College Relations Data Services, theCRM Solutions Architect will play a key role in enhancing theconstituent experience, for alums, donors, and staff, among others.Following a Salesforce go-live in April 2026, the project team isfocused on the next phase of implementation, including datastabilization, process refinement, reporting, and useradoption.
The successful CRM Solutions Architect will provide strategic andtechnical leadership through the continued development of ascalable technology environment, leveraging the power andflexibility of the Salesforce ecosystem (including managed packageCRM Kindsight ascend ) and knowledge of the institution’sbusiness strategy, to develop and implement solutions that supportthe Division of College Relations in meeting its fundraising andengagement objectives, furthering the College’s mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Solutions Architecture
- Partner with business units to gather requirements, analyzeprocesses, and design effective, scalable solutions.
- Translate business goals into technical specifications anddetermine when to use Salesforce configuration, Apex/customdevelopment, or third-party applications.
- Develop process maps, user stories, testing strategies, andacceptance criteria.
- Design and implement Salesforce Flows and other automations to improve efficiency, data quality, and approvals.
- Oversee data quality, imports, mapping, analysis, and ongoingmaintenance.
- Manage Salesforce/ascend users, licenses, permissions, andsecurity in partnership with LITS.
Platform Architecture & Governance
- Serve as a technical advisor to leadership and project teams,promoting Salesforce best practices, scalability, sustainability,and technical debt management.
- Develop custom objects and metadata and co-design Apex andLightning Web Component (LWC) solutions with LITS.
- Lead architecture and code reviews and assess technicalrisks.
- Serve as technical lead for Kindsight Connect (alum portal),including architecture, configuration, and managed packagegovernance.
- Manage ascend integrations with Kindsight Connect, Blackthorn,GiveCampus, and enterprise systems such as Workday and Slate.
- Coordinate system and application upgrades with LITS andCollege Relations Data Services.
Documentation & Training
- Lead end-user onboarding and training to build Salesforceexpertise and self-sufficiency.
- Promote best practices for system configuration, reporting,data views, and end-user processes.
Team Management
- Supervise one technology and data professional responsible fordocumentation, training, and selected CRM administrationfunctions.
SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EDUCATION/ CERTIFICATIONS
1. Required
- Strong experience administering Salesforce managed packages,including configuration, upgrades, and ongoing support
- Extensive experience utilizing Salesforce declarative solutionsrequiredExperience in gathering business requirements, requirementsanalysis, business analysis, and systems developmentlife-cycle
- Strong understanding of advancement business use cases
- Ability to collaborate and influence project stakeholders anddevelopers, and work in or lead cross-functional teams; ability tobuild relationships with people in various levels and areas of theorganization (e.g. LITS colleagues, fundraisers, seniorleadership)
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relatedfield
- 7 years experience working in Salesforce architecture andimplementation
- Salesforce Platform Administrator Certification required
2. Preferred
- Understanding of Apex programming language and Lightning WebComponents (LWC) strongly preferred
- Experience with Kindsight products, Blackthorn, and GiveCampusapplications preferred
- Experience with Agile methodology preferred
- Salesforce Platform Administrator II and Salesforce PlatformApp Builder Certifications preferred
Hiring Range: $103,517-$121,866
