Job summary

CyrusOne is seeking a Critical Environments Operator for its Durham data center. You will operate, monitor, and maintain electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/R systems to ensure peak reliability and safety. The role offers growth paths from Associate to Lead Operator with mentorship and capacity planning involvement.

Ideal candidates bring a safety mindset, strong communication, and the ability to work a flexible on-call schedule in a fast-paced environment. CMMS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Safety mindset and willingness to learn.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs, MOPs, EOPs.
• Experience with CMMS and work orders is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including on-call.

Responsibilities

• Monitor data center mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R systems to ensure uptime.
• Respond to building alarms and prioritize critical loads.
• Execute preventive maintenance and follow SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and MMRs.
• Use CMMS to track work orders, labor hours, and PMs.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors; enforce safety protocols.
• Perform equipment and system modifications and safe working area setup.
• Maintain awareness of company, government, and client policies and EHS requirements.
• Senior level: mentor junior operators and participate in capacity planning.
