Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer and coordinate treatment for patients across the life span and to document care accurately. You will be part of the interdisciplinary team, respond to emergencies, and support respiratory care from neonate to geriatric patients.

The role emphasizes effective communication with nurses and physicians, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and thorough charting.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Care Professional) in the state of Georgia.
• Educational Requirements: Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Respiratory Therapy training through an accredited school and successful completion of registry examination.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with nurses on patient care issues, ventilator changes, and ABG results.
• Performs thorough documentation of treatments, medications, and vent flow sheets in EMR and records.
• Manages critical care patients and ventilators; interprets CXR, labs and progress notes to inform care decisions.
• Provides floor therapy modalities, patient education, and follows up on delays in treatment.
• Organizes patient care and supports unit operations; performs consultations/assessments as requested.
