Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 7 West Critical Care Step Down Unit. The role includes caring for patients with congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA and sepsis, using telemetry, EKG interpretation and advanced respiratory support.

The unit operates with rotating shifts (7a–7p/7p–7a) and rotating weekends/holidays. Ohio RN licensure and ACLS/BLS are required, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• BLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.
• PRN must have certifications at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on a 14-bed Critical Care Step Down Unit (7 West).
• Interpret EKGs and monitor telemetry.
• Administer and manage respiratory support (BiPAP, high flow O2, trach/vent care).
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies).
• Demonstrate critical thinking, delegation, and time management.
