Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step Down Unit, 7 West, at the MetroHealth Main Campus. The role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care for populations such as congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA, and sepsis.

The 14-bed unit emphasizes telemetry monitoring, advanced nursing skills, and collaboration with PCNAs, interns, and providers. The ideal candidate will be a current Ohio-licensed RN with BLS and ACLS certifications, plus 1 year of RN PRN experience

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or in process of accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS for the healthcare provider certification (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Current ACLS certification (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience; PRN must possess all required certifications at hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret EKGs and provide bedside nursing care.
• Care for patients with central lines and perform related care.
• Support and manage respiratory therapies (BiPAP, high flow oxygen); assist with bedside procedures like endoscopies/bronchoscopies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, delegation, and time management in a fast-paced unit.
