Boston Medical Center (BMC) invites applications for a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit – Surgical Step Down. This 38-bed unit handles post-operative and specialty surgical patients, including trauma and cardiothoracic cases.

The position offers a 36-hour schedule with day/night shifts and rotating weekends. You will provide patient-centered care within a supportive nursing organization, enabling professional growth and development.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license or ability to obtain one.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma/ASN/BSN; BSN preferred with ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records and enter data into computerized systems.
