Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in Sitka, Alaska is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory therapies per protocol and physician orders across neonatal to geriatric patients, including airway management and ventilatory support. Responsibilities include evaluating pulmonary function, performing ABG analyses, teaching patients, and maintaining equipment.

Two years of RT experience preferred; NBRC credential and Alaska RT license required; ACLS and PALS within 3 months of

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist at time of hire.
• Alaska Respiratory Therapy license required.
• ACLS & PALS required within 3 months of hire.
• Clinical competency required within 3 months and annually.

Responsibilities

• Assess, administer, and evaluate respiratory therapy treatments for neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Perform pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases, and airway management.
• Provide patient instruction on respiratory equipment and therapies.
• Maintain and clean equipment and support life-sustaining ventilation when needed.
