Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and related equipment; conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and conducts diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; aware of critical care duties.
• Evaluates current therapies and makes appropriate care recommendations.
• Documents therapy results; communicates with healthcare team.
• Initiates and modifies respiratory care techniques in emergencies; performs blood gas analysis.
• Works independently across patient care areas and uses electronic medical records.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes annual proficiency evaluations.
• Adapts care to ages and developmental stages of patients served.
