Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System seeks a Respiratory Therapist to administer and coordinate treatment for patients across the life span, from neonate to geriatric. You will document care, communicate with the interdisciplinary team, and respond to emergencies.

The role requires a Georgia license, an Associate degree, and completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program with registry. Preferred candidates have one year of experience and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Respiratory Therapist in Georgia.
• Associates Degree.
• Respiratory Therapy training through an accredited school and registry exam.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in relevant position.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with nurses on patient care issues, ventilator changes and ABG results.
• Document treatments and medications delivered, vent flow sheets in EMR.
• Manage ventilators by parameters and interpret CXR, labs, and progress notes to guide care.
• Provide patient education and follow-up on therapy and notify of delays in treatment.
• Coordinate with physicians and nurses to ensure safe and effective care.
