Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide and manage respiratory care services in a high-acuity environment. The role requires in-depth knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and ventilator support, with the ability to conduct and adjust prescribed therapies to optimize patient oxygenation.

Responsibilities include diagnostic procedures, emergency respiratory care, blood gas analysis, and coordination with the care team to ensure safe, effective therapy and accurate documentation

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• RRT or RRT Equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in modes and methods of oxygen delivery and equipment; conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures to achieve adequate oxygenation.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and communicates their purpose and effects.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; aware of critical care duties and effects.
• Evaluates therapies using judgment and protocols; makes recommendations on plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with healthcare team.
• Initiates and modifies respiratory care techniques in emergencies.
• Performs and evaluates blood sampling analysis.
