Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide expert respiratory care in various clinical settings. The role requires knowledge of oxygen delivery modalities, therapeutic procedures, and ventilator management, with strong documentation and team communication skills.

The candidate will independently evaluate therapies, participate in emergency respiratory care, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards while maintaining proficiency with the electronic medical records

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment and conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures to achieve adequate oxygenation.
• Administers therapeutic procedures with understanding of purpose, benefits, and possible effects; performs diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; understands critical care duties and effects of therapy.
• Evaluates current therapies independently and makes recommendations for plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates information to healthcare team.
• Initiates and modifies respiratory care techniques in emergencies; conducts blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
