Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician in its Critical Care unit. Under RN supervision, you will deliver direct clinical and support services, participate in patient-centered care, and collaborate with the healthcare team to meet patient, family, and staff needs.

The role emphasizes working with innovation and teaching initiatives, ongoing training, and a strong focus on career development within the Teaching Innovation Unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS and CPR certification current or obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic math and computer proficiency.
• One of: prior PCT experience in acute hospital; nursing program with two clinical rotations; PCT training; certified medical assistant training; EMT experience (adult ED); multilingual skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient care interventions for Critical Care patients and families.
• Provide clinical services such as vital signs, bathing, feeding, wound care, hygiene assistance, room cleaning, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and ensure appropriate equipment in the Critical Care department.
• Contribute to efficient operations and positive patient/family outcomes.
