Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. in Boston is seeking a Staff Nurse for a 36-night schedule with every 3rd weekend and holiday commitments. This Critical Care Float Pool RN position responds to emergencies across departments, leading Rapid Response and Code Blue efforts as required.

The role requires a BSN, MA RN licensure, 1–2 years ICU experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, and strong assessment, prioritization, and teamwork skills in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• BSN is required.
• Current licensure in Massachusetts as a registered nurse is required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of ICU Experience is required.
• ED experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required or must obtain ACLS by the end of orientation.
• Adheres to all I C.A.R.E. standards.
• Must show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
• Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
• Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, team work, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care.
• Demonstrate initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs.
• Lead for all patient care emergency responses including Rapid Response, Code Blue, Code Stroke, and out-patient Code Blue calls.
• Respond to emergencies in any department and work under supervision of a nurse manager or supervisor.
