Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC seeks a Clinical Professional Development Specialty Educator to enhance professional practice and ensure quality patient care across the division. The role demands deep specialty nursing expertise and delivery of evidence-based educational programs for nursing, inter-professional and non-licensed staff.

The educator will lead orientation, assess learning needs, plan engaging content, and collaborate with the education team to evaluate outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Master's degree in nursing preferred.
• 2+ years clinical education experience required.
• 3+ years experience in acute care hospital required.
• 3+ years experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership preferred.
• Currently licensed as appropriate to education in the state of practice required.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) required.
• Specialty certification per ANCC required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and assists with orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Conducts orientation to facilitate a positive learning environment; participates in development and evaluation of competency.
• Identifies learning needs of the identified specialty staff and develops activities to address deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
• Plans educational content with learner engagement.
• Assesses practice gaps.
• Collaborates with the clinical education team to evaluate and adjust educational programs based on feedback.
• Monitors practices to ensure compliance and communicates KPIs for the clinical education service line.
