Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Critical Care Float Pool at St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Austin, TX.

The role focuses on patient assessment, care planning, and evaluating outcomes, while guiding non-licensed staff under supervision. The position involves documenting interventions, administering medications, venipuncture, and ensuring orders are followed. Qualified candidates have 2 years of ICU experience, an ADN, and a Texas RN license (or Compact

Qualifications

• 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• ADN from an accredited nursing program.
• Current State of Texas RN license or Compact RN license (90 days to obtain Compact).
• BLS required by St. David's Healthcare policy.
• ACLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• CATN or TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessments at admission.
• Create and revise plan of care, including discharge planning, based on patient response.
• Document outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments.
• Administer medications and complete treatments per hospital policy.
• Perform venipuncture and manage IV fluids and IV medications.
• Review new physician orders, ensure orders are carried out, and notify other departments as needed.
• Notify Charge Nurse/physician of changes in patient status.
• Provide accurate patient information reports to on-coming shift for continuity of care.
