St. David's North Austin Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is hiring an RN for the Critical Care Float Pool in Austin.

You will assess patients, plan and execute care, and supervise non-licensed team members while ensuring safe medication administration and documentation. This role emphasizes sepsis detection, advanced trauma, and collaborative patient care. Requirements include 2 years in ICU, ADN, Texas RN license or compact license with 90 days to obtain Texas license, and

Formación

• 2 years of nursing experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from accredited Nursing program.
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NIHSS certification required within 60 days of hire.
• CATN or TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Perform patient assessments and develop a plan of care.
• Direct, monitor, and evaluate care provided by non-licensed personnel.
• Document outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Provide educational materials to patients and families.
• Administer medications and complete treatments per policy.
• Perform venipuncture and manage IV fluids/medications.
• Review orders, ensure execution, and coordinate with departments.
• Notify Charge Nurse/physician of status changes.
• Provide shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care.
