Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Beaumont, TX is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Critical Care and similar clinical settings. The nurse will practice independently, provide routine and complex care per patient treatment plans, and develop skills to manage contingencies in acute settings.

Responsibilities include delivering nursing care using the nursing process, administering medications, documenting patient information, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of combined experience in Critical Care and another specialty (e.g. Medsurg, Telemetry, IMC or Emergency).
• 5 years of experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS required; RN license in the state of employment (or compact).
• PALS and NRP required at CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Uses nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene and evaluate care for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications and care provided.
• Educates patients, families and caregivers; delegates tasks to the care team as needed.
