Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of combined experience in Critical Care and another specialty (e.g. Med/Surg, Telemetry, IMC or Emergency).
• 5 years of experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS required; RN license in the state of employment or compact; PALS and NRP required at CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Educates patients, family members and/or care givers and identifies issues and resources.
• Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies and unit leadership expectations.
