Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Critical Care Float Pool. The role involves floating to five ICUs at Fairfax Medical Campus: Trauma, Med/Surg, Neuro, Cardiovascular, and Cardiac ICU. This is a full-time night-shift position with varied hours (7:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in Virginia as RN.
• 2+ years of critical care RN experience preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider, ACLS & NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments and interprets data.
• Formulates individualized care plans based on assessments and trends.
• Supports and empowers patients and families through care continuum.
• Advocates for patients’ rights and serves as a resource to resolve issues.
• Addresses ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs to maximize outcomes.
• Documents all patient care activities and supports team documentation.
• Evaluates outcomes of documentation and contributes to performance improvement.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and leads other disciplines.
• Acts as a clinical resource and mentor to staff.
• Maintains continuing education records with a minimum of six contact hours.
