Job summary

Amentum seeks Surge Support Staff to perform microbiology and QA/QC tasks in a lab setting, including DNA extraction and real-time PCR. Must obtain/maintain a DHS suitability security clearance and be available to report 24/7/365.

Responsibilities include sample handling, GLP adherence, CoC maintenance, data entry, QA/QC, and routine equipment maintenance. A Bachelor’s in microbiology or molecular biology with 1 year bench experience is required; BSL-3 experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology or molecular biology with at least 1 year of lab bench experience.
• Experience with PCR and real-time PCR.
• BSL-3 experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handling, receipt, and processing of samples potentially containing biological threat agents.
• Performing non-research biological science work utilizing microbiological and molecular techniques.
• Preparing reagents and samples.
• Decontamination of workspaces and equipment.
• Maintaining chain-of-custody (CoC).
• Interpretation of results and data entry.
• Calibrating, cleaning, assembling, and maintaining routine equipment.
• Collecting and analyzing internal swabs for QA/QC.
• Proper disposal of bio-hazardous waste.
• Restocking supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Adhering to QA/QC requirements and training records.
